Hotel del Luna (Korean: 호텔 델루나 ; RR: Hotel delluna) is a 2019 South Korean television series, starring Lee Ji-eun and Yeo Jin-goo as the owner and manager, respectively, of the eponymous hotel that caters only to ghosts. Produced by GT:st, writt by the Hong sisters and directed by Oh Choong-hwan, it aired on tvN from July 13 to September 1, 2019.
Hotel del Luna (previously known as Guest House of the Moon) is not like any other hotel. A supernatural place, the hotel is not visible in its true form during the daytime and humans can only come across the hotel under special circumstances. Its staff and clits are all ghosts coming to terms with unfinished business in their former lives before they pass on to the afterlife and cycle of reincarnation;
The staff, in particular, have be there for decades or cturies as they have not settled their grudges. The exception to this is the hotel's geral manager, which has be filled by a succession of human passersby since they need to interact normally with the real world in certain instances, like paying bills or fulfilling ghosts' requests with still-living relatives/frids.

Jang Man-wol (Lee Ji-eun) is the owner of this hotel, which is located in Myeong-dong, Seoul. Due to a huge sin committed more than a millnium ago, the hotel catering to the dead has be bound to her soul.
As a result of manipulation by the deity Mago (Seo Yi-sook), Jang Man-wol meets Koo Chan-sung's father (Oh Ji-ho) and makes a deal: in exchange for his life, his son will work for her 20 years later.

Alternating betwe being aloof and bad-tempered, she is known for her love of extravagant things, particularly luxurious outfits, fast cars, and expsive champagne.

This series aired on tvN, a cable channel/pay TV which normally has a relatively smaller audice compared to free-to-air TV/public broadcasters (KBS, SBS, MBC and EBS). It was the most viewed tvN drama of 2019, and is currtly the sixteth highest-rated Korean drama in cable television history.
On June 24, 2020, Studio Dragon announced that it would co-produce an American remake of Hotel del Luna with Skydance. Alison Schapker will be in charge of developing and producing the series. She will be working with Miky Lee, Jinnie Choi and Hyun Park of Studio Dragon, and David Ellison, Dana Goldberg and Bill Bost of Skydance Television.

On January 27, 2021, the theater company Showplay announced that Hotel del Luna was adapted into a stage musical that premiered in 2022.My first K-Drama for 2020 is lead by none other than my favorite Korean Singer, IU. This drama was released around July – September 2019 but I was just able to watch it this year because of life. LOL. As mentioned, IU is the main cast so this is my first choice to start my K-Drama binge-watching this year.

What I like about this K-Drama are IU’s fashionable outfits which prove that you don’t need to wear branded clothes to look good. IU effortlessly showcased every outfit and matched it with her current mood.
My favorite scene was when Jang Man-Wol killed Goo Chung-myung during the Goguryeo era. Just after his marriage to Princess Song-hwa, he intentionally allowed himself to be killed by Man-wol. I bawled like cray watching this scene knowing Goo Chung-myung’s unwavering love for Man-wol.
What I disliked about this K-Drama is the lack of chemistry between the leads. I honestly did not felt any chemistry between IU and Jin-goo. I shipped IU’s character with Do-Hyun’s instead. I was bored just from the first 3 episodes but I still finished it to show my love and support to IU.
Reasons To Watch 'hotel Del Luna'
I will rate this K-Drama as 6/10. Not that bad but I do not highly recommend it for K-Drama starters. But if you love IU just like I do, you need to watch this for more fashion inspiration from the Queen herself.
