E / Entertainment Kim Soo Hyun dramas and movies to binge-watch after It’s Okay To Not Be Okay You’ll also see how he has progressed as an actor through the years
We all know Kim Soo Hyun as the versatile actor who can pull off any role, including one for his latest drama, It’s Okay To Not Be Okay. Sadly, the final episodes will air this weekend. Need more doses of Kim Soo Hyun? Here are some of his previous works that are worth binge-watching.

A top star and an alien fall in love. That’s basically the whole show summed up in one line. Apart from the refreshing plot, Jun Ji Hyun and Soo Hyun’s undeniable chemistry and immaculate fashion also got us hooked. Ji Hyun’s character is really one-of-a-kind – you can’t help but feel for her although she might come across as naive and strange.

As with all sageuk dramas, you need patience for this one but the plot builds up nicely. And like most historical dramas, there are more twists and turns in the show than an F1 racecourse. We must say Soo Hyun’s acting chops shone through during his crying scenes. But years after the show ended, we’re still on the fence about the Kim Soo Hyun-Han Gain pairing.
Kim Soo Hyun. IU. Cha Tae Hyun. Gong Hyo Jin. In one show. Surely that’s good enough a reason to watch this? The plot is rom-com that is more comedic than romantic. To be honest, when we first read the synopsis, we weren’t blown away, but the show is strangely addictive, so be prepared to binge-watch it over a few days. This writer finished it in one weekend (yes, it’s unhealthy, don’t @ her).
If you knew Soo Hyun from his Dream High years, you can call yourself a longtime fan. For those who haven’t watched it, this drama revolves around a group of students from an arts school who have dreams of being singers and performers. Wondering how the Kim Soo Hyun x Suzy ship came about? Watch the show. And look out for the bus kiss. Interestingly, Kim Soo Hyun was the only non-singer among the main cast members.

Can a movie get any more star-studded than this? Lee Jung Jae. Kim Hye Su. Jun Ji Hyun. Kim Hae Sook. Oh Dal Su. Oh, and Simon Yam. Like its name suggest, the film follows a group of thieves who try to pull off a heist. Superb acting, engaging plot – you won’t regret watching this. It is the eighth highest-grossing film in Korean film history.
If you’ve watched Crash Landing On You and spotted Soo Hyun’s cameo, and wondered why he appeared out of the blue, he didn’t. He actually reprised his character from this movie for the drama. As you would have known from CLOY, he plays a North Korean agent who is sent to go undercover in South Korea. The movie made history with the highest number of tickets sold on a single day opening of all time for domestic movies. It continued to break records, drawing 5 million viewers within 12 days of release.
Described as a neo-noir action film, the movie was initially not well-received, especially among critics. While Soo Hyun was applauded for being able to pull off his dual-character role, some critics felt the plot and special effects were subpar. However, when it was released as a video-on-demand on cable TV, it did well on the charts. Interestingly, the movie saw a lot of cameo appearances by top stars including Son Hyun Joo, IU, Suzy and Park Seo Joon.Actress Gianna Jun won the Grand Prix in the drama category of the SBS Awards Festival (SAF) 2014 for her role in My Love From The Star. -- PHOTO: ONE

Seoul (The Korea Herald/Asia News Network) - Actress Gianna Jun outshone actor Kim Soo Hyun, her costar in My Love From The Star, in the drama category of the SBS Awards Festival (SAF) 2014 held at Coex in Seoul on Wednesday.

Jun, 35, won the Grand Prix with My Love From The Star, a huge hit for her and the television broadcaster alike. The SAF recognized the hallyu actress for her outstanding acting and the drama's stunning ratings and popularity at home and overseas.
The results were more or less undisputed largely due to the public sentiment that the Grand Prix must take into account not just the actors' role but their overall acting career and experience.
Jun Ji Hyun
Thank you, it is refreshing to stand here because the drama was being broadcast around this time a year ago, Jun said during her acceptance speech. The actress also acknowledged the drama's producer Jang Tae Yoo and scriptwriter Park Ji Eun, her fellow actors and production crew, her husband and, above all, Kim.
She said, My amazing costar, Kim Soo Hyun, thank you so much. I wouldn't have won the award without you. Thank you. She also shook up the Coex convention hall with her shout-out to her husband. She said in an ingratiating nasal voice, Honey, don't you ever fall asleep tonight.

Jun's award was announced after Kim, winner of the Best Actor Award in the mid-length drama category, was called to the stage.

My thanks also goes to producer Jang Tae Yoo and scriptwriter Park Ji Eun of My Love From The Star. I also owe the whole staff who worked for the drama. My dearest Chun Song Yi, Ji Hyun nuna (older sister), Kim Chang Wan, Shin Sung Rok, Park Hae Jin, Yoo In Na, Ahn Jae Hyun and other colleagues, senior and junior actors, I owe you all.
I get scared when I set out on a new project, because I still lack experience. I was scared about playing Do Min Jun because he was such a fresh character. But I will march on with more projects in the future. I am still a half-baked actor, but I ask for your support in the days to come.
The SAF gave various drama awards to other actors from My Love From The Star. In the mid-length drama section, the festival conferred the Special Acting Award to Kim Chang Wan, the Excellent Actor Award to Shin Sung Rok and the New Star Award to Ahn Jae Hyun.
